Terry Fox School Run

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hay Lakes School is getting ready for the Terry Fox School Run! We’re super excited to take part in this annual tradition that supports cancer research while building school spirit. Please support our students’ fundraising efforts and donate today at:https://terryfox.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9c16f8b6c2b735d53eb75ef97&id=ba33a7f1f8&e=ca8b7ea107

On Thursday, September 25, students will be participating in the annual Terry Fox School Run. Our fundraising goal this year is $13.00 per student. That is 1 dollar for each province and territory. Terry’s Goal was to run across Canada, and for every Canadian to donate 1 dollar to cancer research. If we meet our school goal of $1300, the students will receive a frozen treat to enjoy.

Each student will receive a sticker to wear that reads: “I am Finishing it for”…________.

We encourage you to have a conversation with your child about who they might run for.

In 1980, Terry had a dream of a world without cancer. Forty-five years later, Terry's Marathon of Hope lives on. If we work together, we can make such a difference in the lives of so many. Please help fund critical cancer research in Canada by supporting our participation in the 2025 Terry Fox School Run. Crossing the finish line means hope for everyone with cancer. Together, we can Finish It.

Together, we can all make a difference. We are very excited to be a part of the 45th Terry Fox Run.  This is our opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from cancer. We hope you will join us as our school community bands together in the fight against cancer. Thank you in advance for your support!

Run route location/details:

The route is: Around the west side Soccer net to the east side backstop on the north side of the school, starting at 2:10. Students are encouraged to do 13 laps, to represent the provinces and territories. They will be given a punch card to complete.

Parents and siblings are welcome to join us for the walk/run.

Sincerely, Hay Lakes Staff
