Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. I am very excited to be the Principal of Hay Lakes School. I have been with Battle River School Division for eight years, and an administrator for seven years, the last three of which were spent at École Charlie Killam School as an Assistant Principal.
Parents, teachers, and school all play a major role in the development of a child and each shares the responsibility for the education of children. The Hay Lakes Staff is committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities and we are committed to supporting students. We encourage families to talk about the learning that is going on in our building often and to work with their child's teacher to create a strong educational experience. Open and transparent communication between home and school is a top priority at Hay Lakes School.
At Hay Lakes, we encourage students to consider what their "PAW Print" will be. Students learn about Trust, Inclusiveness, Generosity, Empathy, and Respect as part of our school's character program and behavior matrix. We want to work with members of our school community, including students, staff, and parents, to ensure that these values are demonstrated by all.
